• d) Le concept SIMONE (Small Satellite Intercept Mission to Objects Near Earth), qui a été proposé par QinetiQ, le Planetary and Space Sciences Research Institute (PSSRI) de l'Open University (Royaume-Uni), Science Systems Ltd., Telespazio et l'Université polytechnique de Milan, mettrait en œuvre une constellation de petits satellites à faible coût qui survoleraient et/ou approcheraient un certain nombre d'astéroïdes potentiellement dangereux afin d'en caractériser la population ou d'obtenir des informations de première main à leur sujet;
